Milan is once again set to host the design world's finest from 20 to 26 April, with hundreds of brands and creatives descending on the city for Milan Design Week. Taking place at the Salone del Mobile fair at Fiera Milano and including Fuorisalone, which is spread across the city's participating design districts, the week will be full of product launches, events and captivating installations to explore. Here's what we're most excited to see at Milan Design Week…
What's happening at Salone del Mobile
Celebrating its 64th year, Salone del Mobile returns to Fiera Milano to display what's new in indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting, textiles and surfaces. Salone’s theme this year is ‘A Matter of Salone,’ and will highlight raw materials, not just as ‘physical components,’ but as ‘carriers of memory, sensory experience, and potential.’
The bi-annual EuroCucina showcase, an exhibition dedicated to kitchenware, and the Bathroom Exhibition, which features over 160 specifiers from 14 countries, also returns to Salone in 2026, along with a host of tentpole moments like Workplace3.0 and Salone Internazionale del Complemento d'Arredo. Most notable is the debut of Salone Raritas, an exhibit of collectible design, limited editions and antiques. Curated by the Editorial Director and Cultural Events Advisor of the Salone del Mobile Annalisa Rosso, and set up by design studio Formafantasma, Salone Raritas aims to bridge highly-skilled creative production and the B2B contemporary design market.
Among the exhibitors of Salone Raritas is Draga & Aurel, which has worked with the master glassmakers at Salviati to push the material beyond its conventional use. The research has resulted in two glass projects: the Soffio and Crisalide lamps, each of which suggests a new expressive possibility. The Soffio reveals the essence of blown glass, pushed to the limits of its plasticity, while the plates of glass in Crisalide's design are dense and consistent.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Air bookcase, LAGO is presenting a new design that takes its cues from one of its existing designs: the Air's. The Air Roundy Bookcase enhances the original's character by introducing curved lines. The piece is designed to adapt to the room's architecture by having a variety of curves with different radii.
This April, SMEG, in collaboration with BorromeodeSilva studio, introduces the Musa collection, which includes a variety of products, including ovens that can be configured in different ways. The brand's EuroCucina exhibition will also showcase a wall hood, warming drawers and a built-in coffee machine, showing visitors how these features can be both integrated into various environments or function as standalone elements.
Officine Gullo is unveiling the new Wine Cart during Salone’s EuroCucina showcase. Designed to sit naturally in a luxury residential interior as well as a high-end hospitality setting, the Wine Cart draws inspiration from a historic Florentine winemaking family closely connected to Officine Gullo: Marchesi Antinori.
Porada's Salone presentation is centred around the theme of ‘A reason for being’, which will be reflected visually in the display through the use of colours and textures from Japanese Ikigai mood boards, designed to support the creative work of professionals. Along with a variety of new furniture pieces, Porada is also introducing new materials like French oak, Saint Laurent marble and Travertine to its collection.

Fuorisalone will include host of exciting events to explore throughout the city's participating districts such as Brera Design District, Isola Design District, 5Vie Design Week, Porta Venezia Design District, Montenapoleone District and Tortona Design Week. The Fuorisalone theme is ‘Be the Project,’ which invites a return to ‘conscious, human-centric design, exploring the intersection of craftsmanship, sustainability, and artificial intelligence.’
RH has restored and reimagined the Gallery on Corso Venezia, a monumental 19th-century palazzo inspired by the Italian Renaissance, as a first-of-its-kind retail and hospitality experience. With the aim of introducing RH to the Italian market, the space will span seven levels and 7,000 square metres, seamlessly integrating luxury home furnishing collections from RH Estates, RH Interiors, RH Modern and RH Outdoor with rare art, antiques and artefacts from around the world.
Presented at Palazzo Litta as part of the collective exhibition with the overarching theme of ‘Metamorphosis,’ LcD Textile Edition is unveiling Full Metal Banquet, an immersive installation created in response to this curatorial theme. The installation explores the transformation of materials through a metallic banquet composed entirely of fragments and materials from its own production process, revealing the unexpected beauty of production remnants. Feather artist Eric Charles Donatien has collaborated on the project's scenography and figurative elements, bringing an organic and theatrical dimension to the banquet.
This April, Poliform is inaugurating its new showroom inside the former Palazzo Trussardi, a historic landmark nestled between Teatro alla Scala and Galleria Vittorio Emanuel. Spanning three floors, the showroom is exhibiting a sophisticated expression of contemporary living, according to Poliform’s vision. Elsewhere during Milan Design Week 2026, the brand will also take over Palazzo Clerici to present its new ‘Lanai’ bed. Designed by the Canadian duo behind Yabu Pushelberg, ‘Lanai’ is inspired by the contemporary bedroom and expands the bed’s functionality through modular elements.
Building on their 2022 Floræ Folium collaboration, which explored the optical effect of anamorphosis, French designer Sam Baron and carpet manufacturer Tai Ping are unveiling a new collection of ten rugs during Fuorisalone 2026. Crafted using the classic hand-finished tufting technique, the rugs come in a range of shapes and are distinguished by delicate Latin-inspired names, continuing the spirit of the original concept.
Flexform's new Soreto accessories, designed by Fumie Shibata, aim to embody the deeper meaning of the Japanese term: ‘and also’. The two pieces, a mirror and a valet stand, have been designed to accompany daily life, with the Soreto mirror acting as a device that reflects space, ‘and also’ a furnishing that amplifies its depth, while the valet stand is a gentle spot for garments to be placed.
For Fuorisalone 2026, the curator Nick Vinson has worked closely with Giorgio Bagnara, CEO and creative director of Giobagnara, to bring his distinctive eye back to Genoese house. Together, they will present two collections of limited-edition works: six by Martino Gamper and eight by Gary Hume.
Belgian designer and producer of refined wallcoverings, Arte, is collaborating with the artist Gabriela Sagarminaga on a bold installation inspired by Memphis and Ancient Egypt. The concept for Arte's wallcoverings and Gabriela's life-sized artworks revolves around materiality, and uses raffia, cork, shells, grasses and other organic materials in unexpected ways. The result is a presentation that exhibits both parties' deep appreciation for craftsmanship, tactility and artistic refinement.

The collection is going to be exhibited at both Salone del Mobile and Mua Mua Hotel & Mulino Factory on the Mulino Estate.
