British. Timeless. Classic. Original BTC designs and manufactures lights that enrich spaces with warmth, comfort, and character. Rooted in British heritage, all designs are produced in Oxfordshire, England. Each piece is crafted to last a lifetime, blending artistry with enduring quality.

Founded in 1990 by Peter Bowles, Original BTC remains an independent, family-run brand. Early designs such as the Hector Dome Table Light laid the foundation for a growing portfolio that blends traditional and contemporary styles.

Original BTC champions craftsmanship, producing its lights in the UK using time-honoured techniques and quality materials, including bone china, glass, and metal. The acquisition of Davey Lighting in 2011 reinforced this commitment, preserving historic designs and artisanal skills.

Every piece is handmade by skilled craftspeople in the company’s own factories in Stoke-on-Trent and Oxfordshire. With a global presence and showrooms in France, Germany, the US, and Taiwan, Original BTC continues to balance an international outlook with local roots and a commitment to timeless design.
