The Cornish coast is, to many Brits, as sought after and idyllic as the French Riviera or the Amalfi Coast, which is why the announcement of the Omaze Cornwall house, the latest in its luxury house raffles, has inspired much hope and plenty of excitement up and down the country. For one lucky ticket holder, the raffle could mean winning not just the house (which is impressive on its own) but also £250,000 in cash. Omaze has also guaranteed a donation of £1 million to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity – a partnership backed by the charity’s patron, Simon Cowell.
The house occupies a generous plot of land nestled into a hill overlooking the Gannel Estuary on the north coast of Cornwall. Views over the estuary can be enjoyed from the tiered garden, while the bustling town of Newquay is just a short drive away (incidentally, Newquay airport is just 20 minutes by car, with regular flights to London and many Scottish and European cities). The house is clad in ash-coloured wooden slats, lending the architecture a lived-in yet considered look. Windows and glass doors throughout have been thoughtfully positioned to allow exceptional views from every room, while several terraces furnished with dining and lounge furniture offer ample opportunity to enjoy the long summer days and balmy evenings.
The house is accessed via a private drive and a large terrace and, as you enter on the ground floor, you will find a drawing room, on office and the first of the bedrooms. On your right, stairs lead up to the impressive first floor. It is easy to see how the current owners arrived at this layout, as from the first floor, there are views across the estuary and down to two beaches (Crantock Beach and Fistral Beach). A large open-plan livng room is the picture of comfort, and makes it easy to imagine spending a cosy winter in the house as well as warmer summer months. There is also a well equipped gym and luxurious cinema room.
Four additional bedrooms are spread across the house’s two top floors, with each one decorated in a pleasingly pared-back, light and airy aesthetic. Plenty of natural materials reflect the house’s coastal location and created relaxed, layered schemes, with linen textiles and rattan pieces adding a sense of character and texture to each space.
As we make our way through the dreary days of January and dream of the warm, carefree days of summer, the Omaze Cornwall house has instantly risen to the top of our wish list for 2026. And with tickets costing from just £15, we’re certainly going to throw our hats into the ring.
Which costs are covered?
The lucky winner will win the four-bedroom property, worth £4 million, and £250,000 in cash to help them settle in. They can choose to live in the house, sell it or rent it out. The best part is it comes mortgage-free, with all stamp duty and legal fees covered, and more than £150,000 worth of furnishings – so it really is a stress-free prize. As with every Omaze house draw, it’s for a good cause too, with the company having guaranteed a £1 million donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
